Backstage Reaction To Tonga Loa’s Botched Low Blow At Money In The Bank

Below are a couple of top Money In The Bank news stories of the day, involving Tonga Loa, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.

• Tonga Loa, a member of the Bloodline, was present at ringside but did not participate in the 6-man tag team match that main evented the Money In The Bank 2024 premium live event. He was involved in a few spots, but made noticeable errors.

During the match, Tonga Loa was supposed to deliver a low blow to Kevin Owens. However, his first attempt missed and hit Owens in the butt. The second attempt was also poorly executed.

Fightful Select reported that there was light-hearted joking backstage about Loa’s botched move, which included hitting Owens in the butt and accidentally striking his brother Tama Tonga in the head in the second attempt.

• CM Punk screwed Drew McIntyre once again at Money In The Bank. After the PLE went off the air, McIntyre got physical with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce.

Pearce has announced that both Punk and McIntyre have been fined for their actions, and McIntyre has been suspended:

“I am hereby fining both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for their actions. Due to putting his elbow squarely in my teeth, I am hereby suspending Drew McIntyre indefinitely.”

Pearce also announced the following two new matches for RAW:

– Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio vs. The LWO (Rey Mysterio & Zelina Vega)

– The Judgment Day (Carlito and World Tag Team Champions Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) vs. Braun Strowman & Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth)
