• Former World Champion Reveals Why He Changed His Finisher’s Name
During a recent edition of E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness podcast, former World Heavyweight Champion Christian talked about changing the name of his finisher.
Below is what Christian said:
“The name The Unprettier kinda came as a joke between myself and The Hardys and Adam we would joke around. I don’t even remember how we came up with it but I jokingly called it The Unprettier because I hate how it makes you feel so damn unpretty. We would jokingly talk about it behind-the-scene and somebody and somebody heard it, I think it might have been Michael Cole or somebody.
He said it on the air and it kinda just stuck from there. But I never thought the name matched how dangerous the move was. So when I came back from TNA to WWE I kinda wanted to repackage a few different things, the name of my finish being one of them. I had a conversation earlier that first day back with Vince and I told him my feelings on it and what I wanted to name it and he went, ‘no that’s great. Do it.’ So that’s how it got changed.”
• Backstage Update Regarding SummerSlam 2018 – WWE Officials Feel Event Is Lacking Excitement
The biggest event of the summer, WWE SummerSlam 2018 is less than 20 days away but WWE still has to announce some more matches and build up the big ones. Some exciting bouts like Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title and AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Title are set to take place on the show.
It will be interesting to see how WWE books Brock Lesnar now. Will he be with Paul Heyman or without him? The chances look pretty low after what the Universal Champion did to Heyman last night on RAW.
According to WrestleVotes, there is a feeling backstage that there’s a lack of excitement heading into WWE’s second biggest show of the year. WWE will be trying its best throughout the road to SummerSlam 2018 to hype the event as much as possible.
There’s a feeling backstage within some that SummerSlam is lacking excitement so far with the event just 20 days away. I would look for RAW to try and add some juice to SummerSlam tonight. Let’s just hope it’s not another tug of war between Roman & Brock….
