• We recently reported that former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is expected to return to All Elite Wrestling programming soon.
Another former AEW World Champion is expected to return soon – Samoa Joe.
On the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho faced off against Samoa Joe in a Canadian Stampede Street Fight, ending in a shocking moment when Jericho loaded Joe onto a forklift and drove him through a wall. Unable to continue, Joe was stretchered out and taken to the hospital, halting the match. This was AEW’s way of writing Joe off TV.
Joe’s absence from AEW was planned to allow him to film season two of Twisted Metal for Peacock, where he plays the physical role of Sweet Tooth, voiced by Will Arnett.
The Wrestling Observer reports that Joe is expected to return soon since filming just wrapped up this week, making him available for AEW’s call.
Speaking of Joe, he has also been confirmed to appear in the video game “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii”.
