As we have noted before, WWE has plans to introduce a second World Title after the Brand Split. So we’ll soon have 2 World Champions.
Another thing that confirms this is WWE has shortened the name of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to just the WWE Championship. Below is a pic of the change on WWE.com:
Battleground 2016 is the next PPV which is just days after the WWE Draft and will likely settle the pre-Brand Split rivalries. It’s a big possibility that WWE crowns its second World Champion at SummerSlam 2016.
Word is that one of the contenders for the new World Title might be “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Also, the retired Big Gold Belt might be returning!
