• Becky Lynch Requested Triple H To Cancel Her Planned WrestleMania 39 Match
Former WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is no longer scheduled to face Ronda Rousey in their long-awaited singles match at WrestleMania 39.
On last Friday’s SmackDown, Charlotte Flair returned and defeated Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
According to Wrestlingnewsco, Ronda Rousey vs. Rhea Ripley is now planned for WrestleMania Hollywood.
Xero News reported that Triple H decided to book Charlotte to win the SmackDown Women’s Title because most of the top matches for WrestleMania 39 got leaked (where Flair was scheduled to face Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship), so he wanted to shake things up heading into WrestleMania season:
“Triple H was the one who decided on Charlotte dethroning Rousey on SmackDown as he wanted to shake up the WrestleMania plans as everything had been getting leaked online and WWE had taken notice.”
They also noted that Becky is the one that requested Triple H to cancel her match with Rousey:
“Triple H wants his first WrestleMania to be really good and to have an amazing build, not lackluster that everyone just expects.
It also helped Becky Lynch was the main one saying she felt like a headline match with Ronda Rousey had lost its luster hence the changes as well.”
