Becky Lynch’s future in WWE remains uncertain, despite her stepping away from the company after her contract expired on June 1st.
Lynch’s departure came after losses to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring and in a steel cage match on Raw.
While rumors suggested she might return, new developments indicate that her story with WWE may not be over.
On a recent episode of WrestleVotes Radio, Joey Votes revealed that Lynch’s name still appears on WWE’s internal talent roster, sparking further speculation. “We’ve confirmed that Becky Lynch, her name appears on the roster. Still to this day, her name appears on the weekly roster that comes out with the television script each Monday and Friday… She’s still considered part of the team, so to speak, and we’ll see where this goes.”
WrestleVotes suggested that Lynch’s absence may not have been a straightforward contract expiration. “It’s a very intriguing thing, because I had heard about this months ago when she took her hiatus. Her name never really came off the roster… So it was one of those things where, okay, did they forget to take it off the internal roster? Is it there for moral support because they want to see Becky Lynch in the future?”
WrestleVotes also noted WWE’s typically strict protocol around roster management, which makes Lynch’s continued presence on the roster even more significant, “It’s not lost on me how buttoned-up WWE is about all these sorts of things… For the fact that Becky Lynch has been on that roster sheet for as long as she has, tells me that she’s in the fold and in the mix moving forward.”
The possibility of a strategic hiatus to create anticipation for a major return has also been raised.
WrestleVotes hinted, “Did she ever truly become a free agent? Did she ever, you know, have her contract lapse? Was there time added? Was there a deal done before she took her hiatus? Like, ‘Hey, let’s get this deal done. You go take your hiatus. We’ll make it feel like you’re a free agent, and then when the time’s right, we’ll have you come back and surprise the world.’”
