• “Beginning of the end” – Backstage Reaction To Vince McMahon Continuing To Appear On WWE TV

With 5 different law firms investigating the Vince McMahon situation and looking to file class-action lawsuits against WWE, Vince continues to appear on WWE programming.

On last week’s SmackDown, Vince talked about how WWE will be “Then, Now, Forever, Together”.

On this week’s RAW, Vince talked about John Cena returning to WWE on next week’s show.

According to PWInsider, the backstage reaction to Vince appearing on TV while the investigation is going on hasn’t been positive:

“There’s also been a lot of headshaking at Vince McMahon putting himself back on TV in what some have seen as an act of denial towards anyone questioning him and whether that will come back to bite him.

Some have wondered if this will be the beginning of the end for him.”

• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 59th birthday of Old School WWF Legend Earthquake (Real name: John Tenta).

The former Sumo wrestling Champion joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1989 as “The Canadian Earthquake”, which was later shortened to just “Earthquake”.

In 1991, he formed a Tag Team called “The Natural Disasters” with Tugboat, who became known as Typhoon, and together they won the WWF World Tag Team Championship.

By 1994, he had left the Federation and joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he became known as “Avalanche”, then “Shark” and later under his real name, John Tenta.

Tenta had one last run for the WWF in 1998 & 1999 as the masked “Golga”, but later returned for one night at WrestleMania X-Seven, where he entered the famous Gimmick Battle Royal.

Earthquake getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is actually only a matter of when, not if.
