Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Big E and the Continental Classic.

• WWE will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of The New Day on next week’s RAW.

Big E wasn’t shown on the graphic for this celebration, which began speculation that he won’t be a part of this.

However, that’s not the case. WrestleVotes is reporting that Big E will return next week and WWE is discussing various plans for him:

“Amidst the speculation, we’re told multiple ideas have been presented for a Big E appearance this Monday on RAW to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of The New Day. We’ll see what WWE has in store for the group as a whole as we approach Monday.”

WWE has also filmed content with the trio at their headquarters, which will be shown on social media.

• AEW announced updates to the Continental Classic tournament during this week’s episode of Dynamite. The tournament finals will still take place at the AEW Worlds End PPV on December 28, but the semi-finals will now also occur at the event.

In the semi-finals, the Gold League winner will face the Blue League runner-up, while the Blue League winner will compete against the Gold League runner-up. This is a change from last year’s format. The semi-final winners will then meet in the finals to determine the AEW Continental Champion.

The inaugural tournament in 2023 featured the Blue League winner facing the Gold League winner in the finals. Eddie Kingston was crowned the first AEW Continental Champion after he defeated Jon Moxley in the finals at Worlds End last year.
