• Big Meeting Scheduled Backstage In AEW

After suffering a triceps injury and getting suspended for the backstage fight at the All Out 2022 PPV, CM Punk is ready to return to AEW.

According to Fightful Select, current plan is for Punk to return on the June 21st episode of Dynamite at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. AEW President Tony Khan wants to announce his return in advance and not keep it a surprise.

Punk is hoping to work with The Elite (Kenny Omega & Young Bucks), but there has been no contact between both sides.

He might only be used on AEW’s new show (that’s rumored to air on Saturdays) to avoid backstage conflicts.

According to the Wrestling Observer, there’s a meeting planned backstage in the company regarding this situation:

“There is a meeting soon and involves Chris Jericho, Tony Khan, CM Punk, FTR, and there may be others in there as well. That’s coming up. I guess the idea is to resolve everything or attempt to resolve everything

It’s going to be interesting. Tony Khan wants Punk back, to be the star of the Saturday show and it’s probably… I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen.”
