As seen on this week’s episode of Raw, Samoa Joe teamed up with Intercontinental Champion The Miz to take on the team of Roman Reigns & John Cena and they went on to lose that match.
This was done to start an angle between Joe & Miz as current plan is for Samoa Joe to take on The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at the upcoming Raw exclusive PPV, No Mercy 2017. It’ll be interesting to see how WWE plays out this storyline as both of them are heels on Raw at the moment.
This would mean that Kurt Angle’s illegitimate son Jason Jordan’s Intercontinental Title push has been cancelled. For those who don’t know, there were plans for Jordan to take on The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam 2017, but they got postponed when Jordan didn’t get the reaction from the fans that the WWE officials were expecting. But now, those plans have been cancelled altogether.
Jordan faced former Universal Champion Finn Balor on this week’s Raw & lost. You can watch it below:
Speaking of No Mercy 2017, the only match confirmed for this PPV as of now is Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman for the Universal Champion. No Mercy 2017 will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on September 24.
