Big Title Change Coming At SummerSlam 2018?

• Stone Cold Comments On The Missing Part In Today’s Pro-Wrestling

On the most recent edition of the Steve Austin Show podcast, former 6 time WWF Champion ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin discussed some essential things needed in today’s pro wrestling with MLW’s Court Bauer.

The Rattlesnake emphasized on the manager position and wished that there were more superstars with managers in pro wrestling today.

Below is what Austin said:

“You just don’t see managers anymore. To me, they were the salt and pepper on a great steak. Such colorful, flamboyant personalities, either that mouthpiece, or that dressing, or whatever it needs to be to enhance that talent further, or be the crutch, or be an addition to, and just make that person a superstar.

The way I grew up watching wrestling when I was seven or eight years old, and going through the territories, and having my share of managers. Whether I liked them or not, or wanted them to be with me, I learned a lot from them. To me, they’re part of the landscape that is pro wrestling.”

Most of the fans will agree with Austin. Besides Paul Heyman (for Brock Lesnar on RAW) and Zelina Vega (for Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas on SmackDown Live), there are no managers on the WWE main roster today.

Samoa Joe signed the contract to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2018 last week on SmackDown Live.

The match had been rumored for a while but now WWE has confirmed it. After signing the contract, Joe went on to lock the WWE Champion in the Coquina Clutch.

This has been a dream match ever since Joe and Styles joined WWE as both men had jaw dropping encounters during their runs in TNA.

Whether their match at ‘The Biggest Event of The Summer’ lives up to their previous battles remains to be seen but for now, it’d be a good idea to watch the highlights from their awesome match from TNA Sacrifice 2007 right now:

Skybet has released the betting odds for the match. Samoa Joe is currently a narrow favourite to leave Brooklyn as the new WWE Champion with odds of 4/5.

Styles isn’t too far behind at 10/11, but it’s still interesting to note that Joe is being tipped for the victory despite AJ holding the title for nearly nine months.

It should be noted that there’s a possibility the betting odds could change and turn in AJ’s favor in the upcoming weeks as there were reports that AJ will be WWE Champion at least until the WWE 2K19 video game comes out (as he’s the cover star).
