According to PWInsider, The Rock will “100% perform in the ring” at WrestleMania 40:
“There is ‘no scenario’ where Rock is not wrestling Roman Reigns at the show, unless something unforeseen happens, like an injury.”
This is a done deal and was contractually locked in as one of the milestones Rock would be involved in as part of his TKO Board of Directors deal.
If Cody Rhodes gets added to this match due to the fan backlash, that remains to be seen.
All the questions will be answered at this Thursday’s WrestleMania 40 Kickoff media event in Las Vegas.
Michael Cole said the following about this situation on RAW:
“Though not yet official, it appears The Rock & Roman Reigns are on a collision course perhaps at WrestleMania. The appearance sparked controversy. Will this match become official? We’re going to find out Thursday.”
Cody tweeted the following after “Rocky Sucks” chants during RAW:
“Appreciate the passion, God bless y’all
… but
Trust me.”
