– Big Update On Which PPV Jinder Mahal Might Drop The WWE Championship
“The Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal has been the longest reigning WWE Championship in 2017. He defeated Randy Orton to win the Title at Backlash 2017 and then went on to defend the Title multiple times on PPV against Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura.
Now, Mahal will once again face Nakamura to Hell in a Cell 2017 PPV to defend his WWE Title (as Nakamura defeated Orton this week on SmackDown Live to become the #1 contender for the WWE Title once again). Below is the video of Mahal hitting the Khallas on Nakamura at SummerSlam 2017 and pinning him:

We noted before how Mahal is expected to face John Cena at Royal Rumble 2018 in a WWE Title match, which would mean that Mahal remains WWE Champion at least till January of next year.

Now it is being speculated that Mahal might remain WWE Champion till WrestleMania 34 due to India’s huge presence on Social Media. We noted before how India’s first female wrestler in WWE, Kavita Devi, drew big time on WWE’s YouTube channel with over 4.3 million views on her Mae Young Classic match (which became the most watched WWE video of last week, even going on to beat the epic promo segment between John Cena & Roman Reigns).

This happened because a lot of Indian news sites shared her match video and this is exactly the reason why WWE won’t be giving up on Jinder Mahal as the WWE Champion, as having an Indian origin WWE Champion certainly helps in increasing business in a country with over 1.3 billion people and the company is already drawing big numbers over there.
An example of India’s huge WWE viewership would be The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match from SummerSlam 2015 drawing 65 million viewers!! (PPVs are shown for free on TV in India, but that isn’t necessarily bad as they have a very good TV deal).
