1. John Cena Is Looking Forward To WWE’s Ultimate “Dream Match”

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena talked about “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns’ rise to the top in the WWE.

Cena noted how it is indeed Reigns’ yard now, but he’s looking forward to the day they face off in a singles match:

“Roman is in the trenches every night and he’s performing at an elite level with a champion caliber attitude. His performance and the response that he gets from certain audiences is indicative of an elite-level performer. He’s doing what I did in 2006, 2007, and 2008. He has all the justification in the world in saying it’s his yard.

I’ve made a career of shutting the mouths of people who’ve made that claim that WWE was their yard. I very, very much look forward to the day we put that to the test.”

As we noted before, it looks like WWE officials are looking to do a “Dream Match” between John Cena and Roman Reigns somewhere down the line as they’ve already teased this match twice this year.

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns – WrestleMania

About two months back, WWE released a video where they took a look at the things they would like to see happen at WrestleMania 34 and one of them was a match between “The Champ” John Cena and “The Guy” Roman Reigns.

WWE recently produced another video taking a look at the recent Twitter exchange between Cena & Reigns and they teased this match again. You can watch it below:

With Cena becoming a part timer, Reigns is considered as “The Face of WWE” by the officials (as he’s the #1 draw on the full time WWE roster despite the negative reaction) and if this match happens, then it’ll surely be the main event of a future WrestleMania.

Cena then went on to put over “The Guy” during the interview:

“I’m not going to take anything away from Roman. He handles his business with the utmost professionalism. He’s doing it on his own watch. He’s not one of the those guys that comes over to me and asks me, ‘What happens next?’ He’s doing it his way, and I think that’s the best way to do it. He’s not trying to be the next John Cena, but he is being the only Roman Reigns-and that’s why it’s met with so much adversity.

I can tell you from first-hand because I know. I wasn’t trying to be Stone Cold or The Rock, I was John Cena. That was met with adversity from people looking for the next Stone Cold or the next Rock. That’s what creates the dichotomy, the polarizing environment. I think Roman is doing a fantastic job, and he has an entire roster stacked with unbelievably gifted performers.”
