• Booker T Explains The Sounds He Makes While Stephanie Vaquer Wrestles

Booker T’s commentary during NXT matches, especially when Stephanie Vaquer is wrestling, often gets fans talking because of the sound effects he makes. While some find it amusing, others find it distracting.

Recently, Booker T explained why he makes those “ahh ahh ahh” sounds for Stephanie and shared her reaction.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Booker T clarified that the sound effects aren’t about him but are meant to support her. He described her as “so freaking awesome” and a “great talent” doing an excellent job in NXT. He admitted he didn’t initially see her as the breakout star, expecting it to be Giulia or Zaria instead. However, Stephanie “just slid in there” and impressed everyone with her in-ring skills and entertainment value.

When asked about Stephanie Vaquer’s reaction to his commentary, Booker believes she likes it. He mentioned that she would even point at him before doing her signature move Devil’s Kiss, “like, let’s get ready to, you know, have some fun.”

Booker T is aware that some might think he’s trying to take the spotlight, but he disagrees.

He stated, “the Spinaroonie would not be the Spinaroonie if it wasn’t for a guy by the name of Mark Madden going crazy when I did it, ’Spinaroonie, Spinaroonie, Spin!’, and then it became a household name.” Booker concluded that he’s trying to do the same for the younger talent coming up in NXT.

• Alex Shelley Reveals Why He Rejected WWE’s Offer Before 2024 Signing

The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, debuted in WWE in 2024 and won the WWE Tag Team Championship within a couple of weeks after their debut.

Interestingly, Alex Shelley revealed that he had a prior contract offer from WWE and explained why he declined it.

Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Shelley mentioned previous contact with WWE before his signing. He stated that WWE offered him a contract before the pandemic.

However, Shelley turned down the offer due to the pandemic. He said he was uncertain about signing a wrestling contract because the entertainment industry felt so unpredictable at the time. Like many, he wasn’t sure what the future held.

Here’s what the former TNA World Champion said:

“I had tabled a WWE contract offer because of the pandemic. I was too scared to sign a wrestling contract because the entertainment industry was so up and down. I didn’t know what was going on. Nobody in the world did.”
