Booker T, upon learning of his top spot, shared his thoughts on his Hall of Fame podcast. He expressed deep appreciation for the honor, acknowledging the vastness of his career. “I really appreciate that. I really do. My body of work has been vast. I’m still working my butt off to make sure this next generation finds their way through this journey as well,” he stated.
He also emphasized the challenges of a wrestling career, highlighting the “pitfalls and holes and bumps in the road.” Booker T’s dedication to mentoring younger wrestlers underscores his commitment to the industry and his desire to see others succeed.
“A Performer, Not Just a Wrestler”: Booker T’s Self-Assessment
Booker T offered a candid self-assessment, distinguishing between wrestling ability and overall performance. “I never thought I was the best wrestler in the world, but I always thought I was a really, really good performer, and that’s what the difference was. I always said, top five performers. I never said top five wrestlers (laughs).”

Booker T’s ultimate goal, when he entered the wrestling business over 30 years ago, was to have his name recognized among the best. “When I got in this business more than 30 years ago, I said when it was over with, I just want my name to ring with the best wrestlers that have ever did it, and I feel like I’ve achieved that,” he declared.
His gratitude to BET for the honor was evident. “I appreciate BET for honoring me and giving me that honor and putting praise on me like that,” he said.
