• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 27, 1995) – WWF SummerSlam 1995
On this day in Pro Wrestling history on August 27, 1995, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘WWF SummerSlam 1995’ LIVE on PPV from the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
While of course still being a billion times better than any modern day era SummerSlam, this one is indeed considered the weakest “Old School” edition of SummerSlam, as it had a lot of fillers on the card.
The mere presence of great stars like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, made more than up for it though.
Especially the Shawn/Razor Ladder match – rematch is considered one of the best Ladder matches ever!
Here are the PPV results:
Hakushi defeated The 1–2–3 Kid
Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Bob Holly
The Smoking Gunns defeated The Blu Brothers
Barry Horowitz defeated Skip
WWF Women’s Championship: Bertha Faye defeated Alundra Blayze (c)
Casket match: The Undertaker defeated Kama
Bret Hart defeated Isaac Yankem, DDS via DQ
Ladder match – WWF Intercontinental Championship: Shawn Michaels (c) defeated Razor Ramon
WWF World Heavyweight Championship: Diesel (c) defeated King Mabel
• Bray Wyatt Drops Hint About A Possible Nexus Reunion
Nexus made their WWE debut in 2010. In 2020, it was supposed to be the stable’s 10-year anniversary in the company.
As we noted before, Darren Young revealed that the stable was set for a reunion at this year’s WrestleMania, but the plan was scrapped due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The leader of Nexus, Wade Barrett, returned to WWE as part of NXT’s commentary team this week, and thanked everyone for their support on Twitter after the show.
“Thank you for all of the nice messages about my return to @WWENXT. Crazy couple of days, but I enjoyed it so much, I’ll be back for #NXTSuperTuesday next week! Shout out to @VicJosephWWE, @TheBethPhoenix and @TomPhillipsWWE for taking it easy on the new kid ?? “
Universal Champion Bray Wyatt asked him if he returned for a reunion.
“Are you here for that Nexus reunion thing?”

While this is a small possibility, we can never count out Husky Harris and Wade Barrett reuniting one day.
