On this day in 1987, Jim Crockett Promotions aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘NWA World Championship Wrestling’.

This episode was pre-taped at the WTBS Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and featured matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘NWA Starrcade 1987’ PPV.

• BREAKING NEWS: New Impact World Champion Crowned At Slammiversary, Gallows & Anderson Come Out After The Main Event, EC3 Is Back

The main event of tonight’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary turned into a Fatal 5 Way elimination match for the vacant Impact World Championship after Rich Swann and Eric Young returned as mystery participants.

Eddie Edwards ended up winning the match and is the new Impact Wrestling World Champion.

Below is the order of eliminations:

1st – Trey

2nd – Eric Young

3rd – Rich Swann

4th – Ace Austin

After the match, Madman Fulton attacked Edwards, but The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) came out.

The Good Brothers and Edwards laid out the heels and cleared the ring. After the show ended, a short vignette for the arrival of former TNA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 was shown.
