• BREAKING NEWS: ‘The Genius’ Lanny Poffo Passes Away

WWF Legend ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan first broke the news on his Facebook account that fellow WWF Veteran ‘The Genius’ Lanny Poffo has passed away at the age of 68.

Here’s what Duggan posted:

“With a very, very heavy heart, I’ve been asked to let everyone know about the passing of our friend and colleague Lanny Poffo, The Genius.

RIP Lanny”

ECW Legend Tommy Dreamer also commented on Poffo’s passing, and posted the following:

“It has been reported that Lanny Poffo has passed away

I always enjoyed his work in ring and that he always had a poem for us all #TheGenius”

First, he was known on WWF TV as “Leaping” Lanny Poffo in 1985, but later evolved into a manager called The Genius, who would also wrestle in matches from time to time, while managing the likes of Mr. Perfect & The Beverly Brothers.

He’s the brother of Old School WWF/WCW Legend “The Macho Man” Randy Savage and the son of Old School Wrestling promoter Angelo Poffo.
