15. On This Day In Pro Wrestling History – June 27, 2002

On this day in Pro Wrestling History in 2002, John Cena made his WWE debut on a taped episode of SmackDown. Kurt Angle issued an open challenge and it was answered by John Cena. Cena introduced himself to Angle and noted how he had “Ruthless Aggression” before slapping Angle.

The match between Angle and Cena ended with Cena losing by a pinning combination after a hard fought battle. After the match, Cena was congratulated backstage by The Undertaker, Rikishi, Faarooq and Billy Kidman.
