Brock Lesnar won’t be working the November 4th WWE Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
This is going to be the first Saudi PLE since the inaugural event in 2018 which Lesnar won’t work.
According to PWInsider, WWE Officials believe there’s enough star power at Crown Jewel, including John Cena (this will be his second Saudi PLE), so they are saving Lesnar’s return for a later date:
“WWE sources indicate that the company opted not to bring Lesnar into the plans for this event as with Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight, plus John Cena and Logan Paul, etc. all resulting in an immediate sellout of the venue, it was best to save Lesnar for a future event in the market.”
Lesnar was last seen on WWE programming at SummerSlam 2023, where he lost to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar turned babyface after the match and raised Cody’s hand and hugged him.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Lesnar is now scheduled to return at Royal Rumble 2024, which will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 27.
Speaking of Royal Rumble 2024, Jason Latimer (Public Relations Director for Visit St. Pete-Clearwater) revealed that they paid $500,000 of its tourist development tax funding to WWE to secure this upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event.
Below is what Jason said during an interview with The Catalyst:
“The exposure and marketing benefits, and the visitation we’re going to get from this, are astronomical. We can take those monies that we collect from those visitors in their overnight stays and reinvest them in capital projects here, which will increase visitation.”
