Below are some post-SummerSlam updates, involving Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio & more.
• During the Women’s World Championship match at SummerSlam 2024, Liv Morgan brought a steel chair to the ring, but couldn’t use it. Rhea Ripley tried to use it on Liv, but Dominik Mysterio stopped it as Rhea can’t win the Title via DQ.
Morgan took advantage and dropkicked Rhea into Dominik and hit her finisher on Rhea, but Rhea kicked out. Dominik then distracted the referee, allowing Liv to hit her finisher on Rhea on a steel chair this time for the win.
Dominik made out with Liv after the match and left with her, while an angry, heartbroken Rhea looked on.
Rhea’s real-life husband, AEW wrestler Buddy Matthews, tweeted the following after this happened:
“TK can I help Mami real quick?”

• Roman Reigns finally returned to WWE programming at SummerSlam 2024 and laid out Solo Sikoa, thus helping Cody Rhodes retain the Undisputed WWE Championship in the Bloodline Rules Match.
During the post-show press conference, Cody said he’s happy for the fans that Roman is back because they were asking for The Tribal Chief to come back for so long.
Rhodes then said a title rematch against Reigns must happen:
“Roman Reigns, certainly, he’s entitled to a rematch, because he held the title for so long. That match, it has to happen.”
• CM Punk had his first televised singles match in WWE in over 10 years tonight at SummerSlam 2024.
However, he wasn’t victorious. After special guest referee Seth Rollins was accidentally knocked out, Drew McIntyre low-blowed Punk and hit a Claymore Kick for the win.
Punk reunited with Stephanie McMahon after the match. This wasn’t shown on camera. You can watch the fan footage of this below:
