Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Carmella and Roman Reigns.
• Carmella’s return to WWE remains uncertain as she faces significant health challenges following the birth of her son, Dimitri Paul Polinsky.
She is dealing with drop foot, a condition affecting mobility, as well as two herniated discs in her back. These issues have delayed her comeback plans.
Here’s what Sean Ross Sapp said during a Fightful Select Q&A in November 2024 when asked if there have been discussions about Carmella’s return backstage in WWE:
“Not at all. Unfortunately, she’s suffered from drop foot after giving birth. That can be a tough thing to train through. I was always told that she’d be welcomed back.”
Carmella gave the following update on her health on her Instagram story:
“EMGs, MRIs, Spine Specialists, Neurologists, Physical Therapy. Just a few of the things I’ve been upto lately trying to get this foot better. No one prepares you for the injuries you can sustain while giving birth. No one talks about it. But here I am, living it 14 months later.”

• During his appearance on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Roman Reigns was asked if he had any interest in another World Title reign down the line.
The hosts posed the question by saying, “By the way, any chance the fans might see you get bored and go after [a World Title again] one day if we’re trying to lift the value?”
Reigns responded by implying that if WWE wants to enhance the prestige of their titles, they know exactly who should be holding the title.
While not making any direct claims, he hinted at the possibility of pursuing another World Title, saying, “You know what waist it’s supposed to go on, so yeah.”
The Tribal Chief is a 6-time World Champion in WWE so far in his 12 years on the main roster.
On the post-Royal Rumble edition of RAW, Michael Cole received a text message from the WWE Doctor saying that he doesn’t have sufficient information on Roman Reigns’ injury from Royal Rumble 2025 because The Tribal Chief only lets out the information that he wants out.
Cole said all he knows is that Roman will be out of action for the foreseeable future due to Seth Rollins’ attack.
The obvious reason for this injury angle was to plant seeds for the reported Triple Threat Match between him, Rollins, and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41, but there’s another reason.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the injury angle was done to have a reason for keeping Roman out of the #1 contender Elimination Chamber match, which he isn’t scheduled to win and would have to get pinned or submitted in order to get eliminated from the match, which WWE doesn’t want.
