• In the main event of NXT Vengeance Day, Ilja Dragunov defeated Trick Williams to retain the NXT Championship.
After the match, Carmelo Hayes turned heel and assaulted Williams with a Steel Chair.
In a backstage interview after the show, Hayes said the following about his decision to turn his back on his friend:
“Whooped.”

• During NXT Vengeance Day, there were concerning incidents in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals, which saw Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin defeat Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams.
The top rope on one side of the ring was unusually slippery, leading to potential life-threatening botches.
Breakker’s head got caught between the ropes during a move, and Hayes faced a slippery top rope while attempting a dive.

According to Fightful Select, both men were banged up coming out of this match:
“During the Dusty Rhodes Classic final, rope tightness was questioned after two scary spots involving Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. It was said all involved in the match came out if it a ‘little banged up’.”
