Ric Flair is embroiled in controversy after revealing he was defrauded of $2 million in a business deal 20 years ago.
Posting on social media, Flair clarified the situation does not involve his family or romantic relationships, as some speculated. He refrained from naming the individual responsible due to legal concerns, referencing a past lawsuit he lost after an insurance dispute.
Here’s what The Nature Boy tweeted:
“There Seems To Be Some Disconnect. This Isn’t About Wendy Or Anybody In My Family! This Is About A Guy Who Owes Me Money From A Business Arrangement 20 Years Ago, I Mean Literally A Two Million Dollar Business Deal. I Think About It Everyday.
People Always Assume That With Me It Has Something To Do With A Woman. In This Case, It Absolutely Does Not. I Would Drop His Name, But Then I Would Have Another Lawsuit. I Already Lost One To Him Because I Couldn’t Afford To Fight The Insurance Company!”
Adding to the drama, former Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin accused Flair of owing him $41,000 for missed appearances, publicly calling out Flair on social media.
Here’s what he tweeted:
“Please pay me back th 41K you owe me for failing to appear at 4 signing.
sincerely
Cary Silkin”
A fan wrote:
“Why the f**k would you pay Ric Flair 40k lol dude gets kicked out of a pizza restaurant in the middle of the day with his family.”
Silkin replied:
“I was a mor*n, but it was a long time ago.”
Silkin further added:
“That was the thing one of my greatest wrestling heroes turned out to be the lowest scumbag all the people I dealt with. Nobody screwed me. We’re talking Brett Hart Bruno Bobby Hennan Mick Foley Ricky Steamboat Dusty Rhodes. Everybody was a pleasure except @RicFlairNatrBoy”
