Drew McIntyre competed in a Triple-Threat match against GUNTHER and Sheamus for the Intercontinental Championship on the second night of WWE WrestleMania 39 earlier this year.

After failing to capture the title, McIntyre didn’t appear on WWE programming for a couple of months, which sparked rumors of him possibly leaving WWE. He made his return at the Money In The Bank premium live event to confront GUNTHER.

The Scottish Warrior failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship once again at SummerSlam.

He is now involved in a Tag Team with Matt Riddle on RAW and has been teasing a heel turn since his loss to GUNTHER at SummerSlam.

PWInsider had reported earlier this year that his contract would expire in early 2024.

Insider source BWE later reported that McIntyre’s WWE contract is set to expire soon and there is no indication yet that the former WWE Champion will sign a new deal with the company.

PWInsider Elite provided an update in which it was revealed that WWE has added more time to McIntyre’s contract as he will have to make up for the time he was absent after WrestleMania 39.

His deal was originally due to expire before WrestleMania 40 in April 2024, but it will now run through the Show Of Shows.
