John Cena kicked off this past Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, which was the go-home episode for the Payback premium live event.

Cena said every time he is in this ring from now on, he’ll try to say thank you to the fans, because the fans have given him 20+ years of moments.

John said it’s because of the fans that he’ll wrestle for the first time in India next week, and it’s because of the fans that he’s going to be the Host of Payback.

Jimmy Uso interrupted Cena. Jimmy came out with a new theme song. Fans began chanting “we want Jey”. Jimmy asked what’s Cena doing here, because the fans came to see him, not the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Uso once again said that he did what he did at SummerSlam to save Jey from being corrupted like Roman Reigns and John Cena.

Jimmy said both Reigns and Cena are the same. Both of them take and take and take – the only difference is that Cena does it with a smile.

Cena then said there’s something he has been wanting to say to Jimmy for 3 years now:

“The wrong Uso quit.”

Jimmy tried to superkick Cena, but Cena caught him and laid him out with the Attitude Adjustment.

According to Fightful Select, this segment was originally written a little differently:

“Originally, John Cena was listed as interrupting a Jimmy Uso promo on SmackDown, instead of the other way around.”

After the show went off the air, Cena was interviewed by Cathy Kelley, where he said his final WWE match is near.

At Payback, Cena was the Special Guest Referee for LA Knight vs. The Miz. Tension between Cena & Knight was teased during this match, even when Cena raised Knight’s hand in victory.
