Charlotte Flair has opened up about her emotional and physical struggles following a knee injury sustained during a match with Asuka on WWE SmackDown in December 2023.
In an interview on the Forever Young Podcast, Flair revealed the profound impact the injury had on her.
“When it first happened, I thought my life was over,” Flair said, sharing how difficult it was for her to be sidelined while her husband returned to WWE.
She described the injury as a “perfect storm” that forced her to step away from the ring at a critical time.
The break, however, gave Flair a rare chance for self-reflection. “I just kept telling myself that I’m going to come back the best version of The Queen,” she stated, acknowledging that while she never wanted an injury, it might have been necessary for her to take a pause.
Flair admitted the injury tested her toughness, something she has always prided herself on.
“I’ve always been proud of my toughness, and this injury made me question that,” she explained. Despite the challenges, Flair is optimistic, viewing the setback as a chance to see the “bigger picture.”
Flair concluded by expressing hope for her future in WWE, “I know in the long run, this break will make me better,” signaling her readiness to return stronger than ever.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the comeback of “The Queen” with her renewed determination.
