• On last night’s episode of NXT, Oba Femi cashed-in his Breakout Tournament contract on Dragon Lee and won the North American Championship.

With this win, Femi achieved two historic milestones in WWE by becoming the first athlete signed through WWE’s Next In Line program to win a championship.

Additionally, at 22 years old, Femi became the youngest NXT North American Champion in history, surpassing the previous record held by The Velveteen Dream, who won the title at 23 years old in 2019.

• WWE has appointed Lee Fitting as Head of Media and Production following the departure of longtime head of production, Kevin Dunn.

Dunn, a trusted figure under Vince McMahon, left the company at the beginning of 2024 due to decreased influence and a desire to maintain the production style.

According to PWInsider, Fitting’s hiring has stirred reactions within the production and TV departments in WWE, with concerns about an “outsider” having a higher position than them.

Some employees were disappointed that internal candidates like Chris Kaiser and Jason Robinson were not considered.
