There has been speculation about Britt Baker’s AEW status after PWTorch’s Wade Keller reported she is among the talents not currently being utilized by the promotion.
Baker has allegedly become increasingly difficult to work with, and a minor incident in recent months served as the “straw that broke the camel’s back,” leading AEW to stop booking the former Women’s World Champion. The report also noted that Tony Khan is “fed up” with her.
Bryan Alvarez added that Baker likely has significant time remaining on her AEW contract, and many within the company are unsure why she isn’t being featured.
WrestleVotes reported that WWE is very interested in Baker should she become available, though they don’t anticipate that happening anytime soon:
“We followed up on the Britt Baker potentially being out of AEW story. We did ask an AEW source for clarification, which was met with no comment. We then asked the WWE source if the company would be interested in her if she became available.
That’s the key, if she became available, which we were told a resounding yes, but they don’t expect that to be the case anytime soon. WWE does not expect Britt Baker to be available anytime soon.”
During an interview on The Takedown on SI, ROH World Champion Chris Jericho was asked with Britt will leave All Elite Wrestling.
Here’s what the first ever AEW World Champion said:
“I haven’t really heard either way but I know she’s obviously a very valuable part of the company. She’s one of the OGs, probably one of our first homegrown stars, and I think she does a great job whenever she’s in the ring.
So, I don’t see her leaving or going anywhere, and I’m looking forward to having her come back on the show because she has a great character and a great presence and once again a great fanbase within AEW and within the wrestling world.”
