• Chris Jericho Expected To Return Soon

Speculation is swirling around Chris Jericho’s future as his time away from the ring looks to be ending soon. The WWE Legend recently trademarked the term “The Cornerstone,” a move that has fans and insiders trying to guess where he will show up next. While both major companies have been mentioned, all signs are currently pointing toward a return to AEW.

According to Fightful Select, there is a “growing belief” within All Elite Wrestling that Jericho is coming back. In fact, many people backstage have been talking about him potentially appearing on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg, which is where he is billed from.

While Jericho has reportedly spoken with WWE over the last few months, nothing ever came of it. He wasn’t involved in any major events like the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber, and there are currently no creative plans for him there.

The phrase “The Cornerstone” fits the style of his AEW characters much better than a WWE return, which adds more fuel to the fire that he’s staying put.

• Bron Breakker Cleared To Wrestle, Why He’ll Still Miss WrestleMania 42

Bron Breakker has been sidelined for over a month following a hernia injury that required surgery. He recently visited the WWE Performance Center as part of the process to get medically cleared for an in-ring return.

The former Intercontinental Champion was rumored to return on RAW this week and was reportedly backstage for the show, but he did not make an appearance. WWE announced GUNTHER vs. Seth Rollins for WrestleMania 42 on RAW instead.

As previously noted, plans for WrestleMania changed due to injuries to Breakker and Rey Mysterio. Breakker was originally expected to face Seth Rollins, while Mysterio’s scheduled match against GUNTHER was scrapped.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the decision to have GUNTHER face Rollins was not related to Breakker’s health. Breakker is fully cleared to compete, but WWE chose not to rush him into a high-profile match, preferring to give the storyline proper build time. The storyline with Rollins and Paul Heyman in recent weeks was always intended to culminate in The Career Killer choking out The Visionary at Madison Square Garden.

GUNTHER was announced as Rollins’ opponent because of the injuries to Breakker, Mysterio and Bronson Reed. Additionally, a planned celebrity match involving The Usos, LA Knight, The Vision, and IShowSpeed altered the card, taking Logan Paul out of a potential encounter against Rollins.

WWE still intends to do Rollins vs. Breakker in the future.
