Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Christian Cage, Drew McIntyre & Batista.

• During an interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Christian Cage was asked why he left WWE in 2005.

Here’s what the former World Heavyweight Champion said:

“I did a little TV program with Batista. We went over to the UK and he was the biggest babyface star in the company. I was supposed to be a heel and they booed him out of the building and cheered for me.

When that aired in the United States, you didn’t hear any ‘We Want Christian’ and ‘Batista Sucks’ chants. Let’s just put it that way.

Then after that, when we did the triple threat thing with myself and (John) Cena and (Chris) Jericho. When they inserted Chris into that because they didn’t see me as a big enough star at the time to carry a feud with Cena, that bothered me.

You’re not gonna even give me the chance to prove that I can do this? So that was kinda, to me, the writing on the wall.”
