Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, involving CJ Perry, MVP and Rey Fenix.

• CJ Perry (fka Lana in WWE) couldn’t appear on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision as she was hospitalized due to an infection.

Here’s what she tweeted:

“#CMLL Please keep me in your prayers I’m at the ER @vphcares. The infection from my small finger has gone up my arm. I am so sorry I had to miss last night and @AEW tonight.

I look forward to debuting in Mexico with @AndradeElIdolo.”

She was forced to undergo surgery, which was successful. She later revealed what caused the infection:

“I have been in the hospital since Saturday fighting a fatal infection that came from getting a small splinter backstage at work this past Wednesday. Please keep me in your prayers.

And everyone really take care of any cuts you get. As small as a splinter can turn into a deadly infection. Love all of you guys and thank you to everyone who has reached out. ❤️❤️❤️”

• Jonathan Majors has been fired by Marvel following a conviction of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a harassment charge. With Marvel severing ties, the question arises about who will replace him as Kang the Conqueror.

WWE Superstar MVP wants to replace Majors in that role, as he responded the following to a question on Twitter about his replacement:

“No problem…”

MVP hasn’t appeared on WWE TV in months. He still works the Live Events, where he’s working as a Manager for Omos.

• Rey Fenix will be absent from AEW due to an injury as the promotion heads towards its World End pay-per-view event on December 30.

This was confirmed when he withdrew from a Prestige Wrestling show on January 5th, with concerns arising after a brief appearance at WrestleDream where he mentioned dealing with an “old injury”.

Fenix has not competed since October 10th, when he lost the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy.
