Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving CM Punk.
• Roman Reigns took a shot at CM Punk while reviewing memes with Paul Heyman for IGN.
Referencing a viral meme comparing Punk to the Cleveland Browns and himself to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Reigns dismissed both teams and instead praised his San Francisco 49ers.
He also made it clear that Punk is irrelevant in his presence. Heyman tried to downplay the moment, but Reigns insisted it had real meaning, reinforcing his dominance over Punk.
Here’s what The Tribal Chief said:
“Oh, so I’m guessing this is like a playoff situation. The Steelers keeping the Browns out, but let’s just get one thing correct here. Cleveland sucks. Pittsburgh sucks. Niner Gang (Bang! Bang!).
Well, this got a lot of love, though. This is stupid, but this photo is good, and this moment was excellent. This has real meaning here.
Punk can’t do sh*t while I’m around. Punk’s in it, four. It’s a four with Browns and Steelers, irrelevant football teams. It’s a four. I’m the only thing keeping this thing in a positive.”
Roman Reigns is rumored to face CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 41.

• On Busted Open Radio, Bubba Ray Dudley questioned whether CM Punk belongs among WWE’s biggest legends, calling him a “modern-day legend” but hesitating to compare him to icons like Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Dudley argued that Punk never carried WWE the way Austin did. He noted that while stars like The Rock, The Undertaker, and Triple H were near Austin’s level, Austin was the guy who changed WWF’s landscape.
Bubba suggested that putting Punk in that same conversation “doesn’t sound right”. Here’s what the tag team legend said:
“I think he’s a modern-day legend, I don’t even know if I can say legend. I mean, do you put CM Punk in the same conversation as Steve Austin? See, you got to think about it, it’s not just an immediate yes.
Did Punk carry a company like Austin did? There’s a lot of guys that were near Austin’s level at the time… The Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, but Steve was the guy. When Steve hit, everything hit.
Steve, Rock, Taker, Punk—does it sound right?”
