CM Punk has addressed fan speculation that WWE Raw will feature edgier content when it transitions to Netflix in 2025.
Speaking on KISS FM 103.5 in Chicago, Punk clarified that while there may be some changes, the shift to Netflix will not result in a new “Attitude Era” filled with explicit content.
“I don’t think you’re gonna see much difference than what it is now,” Punk said.
“We’re pushing boundaries a little bit here and there, but I want to temper people’s expectations. Some fans are saying, ‘Oh, they’re going to Netflix, there’s gonna be full-frontal and swearing’ – that’s absolutely not the case.”
Punk highlighted the lessons from the Attitude Era, stressing that pushing boundaries too far can lead to poor quality television.
He also hinted at potential tweaks to the show’s format on Netflix, such as fewer commercials during matches.
“As much as Rhea Ripley wants to come out there and talk like an Aussie and drop a c-word here and there, I don’t think you’re gonna see that,” Punk joked.
In addition to discussing Raw’s future, Punk is preparing for a Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood and will serve as a special guest referee for the NXT World Championship match next week.
