CM Punk returned on this week’s RAW in Chicago and stated that while he has numerous matters to address, being in Chicago feels satisfying.
Responding to inquiries about his presence at WrestleMania 40, he confirmed his attendance despite not being medically cleared yet.
Punk then contemplated potential involvement at the event. He shifted focus to Pat McAfee’s recent interview with Roman Reigns, expressing anticipation of a future encounter with Reigns. Subsequently, he directed jibes at Seth Rollins and taunted The Rock and Drew McIntyre.
Upon McIntyre’s entrance, Punk clarified that he isn’t seeking a match despite not being cleared medically. McIntyre, however, expressed his desire to defeat Punk, referencing their past encounters and his intention to fulfill a checklist item of injuring Punk.
McIntyre intriguingly suggested that Punk serve as his muse and invites him to witness his championship match at WrestleMania. Referring to himself as “The Chosen One,” McIntyre extends an invitation for Punk to be a guest commentator.
Rollins interjected, asserting his dominance over Monday Night Rollins and dismissing Punk and McIntyre’s authority to influence the championship match. He challenged Punk’s relevance and insisted that Punk’s involvement at WrestleMania won’t impact him.
Rollins disregarded Punk’s declaration as a guest commentator and advised him to remain inconsequential.
Punk defiantly asserted his role as a guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XL and said he’ll finally make Seth and Drew entertaining.
As Punk left the ring, McIntyre started some trash talk, leading to Rollins attacking McIntyre with a Superkick and the Stomp.
During this segment, Punk made non-PG comment in reference to his wife, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee. Here’s what Punk said about his commentary role:
“My mouth works… April knows what I’m talking about.”
