Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring CM Punk, Charlotte Flair, and John Cena.

• CM Punk Reveals The Best Match Of His Career

During an interview with Metro UK, CM Punk revealed that he considers his match against John Cena on the February 25, 2013 episode of RAW as the best match of his entire career.

Here’s what the former WWE Champion said:

“That’s probably the best match in my career. There was just an energy, and there was a buzz in the building. I think part of that is because I was just fueled by anger at that point in my career. It got me out of bed.

I had the flu, I had a fever, and I was just f**ing angry. I said, ‘Well, this is the main event of WrestleMania. I know you guys are doing that, but that’s what this is.’ So nobody could tell me anything, I did what I wanted.”

Cena put his WrestleMania 29 main event spot on the line against Punk in this match and won.

• Charlotte Flair Has Backstage Heat For Trying To Do What John Cena Used To Do

Charlotte Flair is reportedly dealing with significant backstage heat in WWE, according to a new report from the Wrestling Observer. The issues are said to stem from her recent interactions with younger members of the roster, particularly Tiffany Stratton.

According to the report, several people within the company are upset with how Flair has conducted herself behind the scenes in recent weeks. One source told the Observer:

“Charlotte is trying to rattle young talent in the way (John) Cena used to and Randy (Orton) used to but the problem is Charlotte has f**ked this whole program because she can’t adjust like they could. She’s trying to embarrass Tiffany.”

The tension is linked to Flair’s current on-screen feud with Stratton, which has garnered extra attention after an unscripted and reportedly messy segment recently. While WWE has since tried to incorporate the real-life awkwardness into the storyline, some within the company believe Flair’s handling of the situation has created unnecessary friction.
