On tonight’s episode of AEW Collision (tap here for complete results), CMFTR (“Real” AEW World Champion CM Punk & AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR) lost to House Of Black in an AEW World Trios Championship match in the main event when ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe choked out Punk and cost him the match.

The North Carolina crowd showed a lot of support for “Hangman” Adam Page throughout the night, despite him not being booked for Collision, as he started his wrestling career in the state.

Some fans in the crowd showed signs saying “Hangman Was Right!” and “Carolina Is Hangman Country” during Punk’s match.

Punk wasn’t happy after the match, and decided to take shots at Page after the show went off air.

The former WWE Champion said that he’s a merchandise mover and makes money for AEW, unlike his old rival Page.

“Earlier today I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman. It’s because the pegs in the toy isle are full of Hangman action figures ’cause nobody wants to buy ’em. He’s a peg warmer unlike me, who moves merchandise and pops ratings and sells toys.”

Punk also said that he’s the heart and soul of All Elite Wrestling and the “real” World Champion of the promotion.

Punk and Page had heat with each other during the build to Double Or Nothing 2022 as Page indirectly accused Punk of getting Colt Cabana fired from AEW during their promo battle.

There were also some spots during their match at Double Or Nothing, which made Punk unhappy because he thought Page was being stiff with him on purpose.

All of these events led to Punk getting into a brawl with Page’s friends, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, after All Out 2022, which was followed by AEW President Tony Khan serving all of them suspensions and taking them off TV for months.
