• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (December 5, 2015) – ECW Veteran Passed Away

On this day in 2015, we lost Old School ECW Wrestler Hack Meyers (Real name: Donald Haviland) due to complications from brain surgery, just 2 days before his 42nd birthday.

Hack Meyers was a regular in the original NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling / ECW Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion back in the mid-90s.

Hack also had brief stints as a “Jobber To The Stars” in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1997) and the World Wrestling Federation (1999), as well as a one-night-only return to ECW in 1998.

Here’s what fellow ECW Original Axel Rotten tweeted that day about his friend’s passing:

“Words cannot express the sadness I feel right now. My friend, partner, Brother #HackMeyers has passed away #shaah”

• CM Punk Takes A Shot At Hulk Hogan, Reason Behind Their Heat

During a recent appearance on Windy City LIVE’s 2 Minute Warning, former WWE wrestler CM Punk was asked who was his favorite wrestler growing up.

Punk replied the following:

“‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper. Hands down.”

This led to the interviewer asking Punk if he’s a fan of “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan.

Punk said he wasn’t really a Hogan guy when he was a kid and said he likes him even less after meeting him:

“I’ve met him, and I like him even less now. F*ck him.”

During a recent appearance on the Steve Austin Show podcast earlier this year, Hogan opened up about his heat with Punk.

Hogan noted that Punk had heat with him because he didn’t interact with him backstage at RAW’s 15th anniversary show.

Hogan said he was dealing with a lot of real-life issues at that time and admits he unknowingly made a mistake.

Below is what Hogan said:

“I was so worried about my home life and the problems I had at home and I don’t mean to call anybody out, but stuff happens.

When I went back for RAW’s 15th Anniversary, I walked into the dressing room there and there was a guy named CM Punk. I didn’t know who he was and I heard I had heat because when I came back I didn’t say hello to him.

When I walked in that dressing room, all I could think about was that I needed to get home and fix my life falling apart. I don’t remember seeing, meeting, talking, or disrespecting anybody that day, but I had to live with that because I was in that space at that time.”
