On this day in 1989, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Wrestling Challenge’.
It was broadcasted from the War Memorial in Syracuse, New York and featured pre-taped matches, promos & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF SummerSlam 1989’ PPV.

• Cody Rhodes Fires Back At Triple H – Calls Him A Pissant Bodybuilder
During DX’s WWE Hall of Fame induction, “The Game” Triple H took some shots at All Elite Wrestling.
Triple H was joking about how there are some rules where the name of Vince McMahon can’t be mentioned during their speech or they would be fired.
Billy Gunn, who now works for All Elite Wrestling, said that Vince can’t fire him.
This led to Triple H saying the following:
“Billy, let’s be honest. He [Vince] would buy that piss-ant company just to fire you again.”

Triple H also said that nowadays people feel more important by putting “EVP” in front of their names. This was an obvious dig at Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega being Executive Vice Presidents of All Elite Wrestling.
During a recent edition of ‘Road To Double Or Nothing’ YouTube series, Cody Rhodes fired back at Triple H for his comments and said the following:
“You mean to tell me some pissant bodybuilder making every match a ‘No DQ’, meandering around the crowd, throwing the jib cam at his opponent compares with a Kenny – Okada match? Or, some bra and panties speculator can match-up with what the women did last September 1st? Or even Dwayne — as electric as it was — rhyming and raising. Was it really better than what Punk said, sitting on that stage?”
