Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring John Cena, The Rock, and Cody Rhodes.
• During an interview with Bill Apter of SK Wrestling, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes’ mother, Michelle Runnels, had the following to say about John Cena turning heel:
“I was just shocked. Completely shocked. I would have never, never thought that was going to happen.
He was a friend of Cody’s, and of course, Dusty knew him, but I wouldn’t call him a family friend.
I would say, ‘John, you should be ashamed of yourself. You had beautiful career. Everybody loved you, and now you’re just an a$$hole’. That’d be about it.”

• The alliance of The Rock and John Cena as a formidable heel duo has captured the wrestling world’s attention, and now, WWE is reportedly contemplating a fitting name for this powerful pairing.
According to WrestleVotes, “The Rock and Soul Connection” name is being considered for this duo ahead of WrestleMania 41.
The name, while seemingly straightforward, carries a deeper meaning. While some fans might speculate that the “Soul” component signifies John Cena’s perceived “selling his soul” to The Rock, the reality is far more sentimental. The “Soul” is intended as a tribute to The Rock’s late father, Rocky Johnson, who was affectionately known as “The Soulman.”
After this report came out, Brian Gewirtz (former WWE writer and The Rock’s right hand man) tweeted the following:
“Your sources are drunk.”
