Paul Heyman kicked off tonight’s SmackDown and said there’s plenty to cover in just two hours. He immediately brings up the upcoming Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, while also teasing topics like Bron Breakker potentially headlining multiple WrestleManias and the ongoing speculation around Brock Lesnar.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes interrupted. He asked the crowd if they caught the Wrestlepalooza recap before admitting he may have gone too far by calling Heyman a “goon” the week prior.
Rhodes then displayed a photo of Heyman announcing Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, questioning if Heyman’s expression looked like that of someone who only planned to reunite with Lesnar for one night.
Rhodes pressed Heyman, asking if he’s talking to “The Oracle” or “The Wise Man” or “The Advocate.” Heyman replied that he’s speaking to “The GOAT” and reminded Rhodes that everyone is aware of Lesnar’s danger.
At that moment, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed emerged through the crowd and confronted Rhodes. Heyman questioned why Rhodes thinks he isn’t in danger, but Rhodes turned his attention to Breakker, saying he would’ve done anything to be in Breakker’s position at his age.
Rhodes told Breakker that he can see the motives of everyone backstage, but no one knows Heyman’s motives and who Heyman is loyal to. However, Cody made it clear that Heyman isn’t loyal to Breakker.
Breakker squared up to Rhodes. Cody threw the first punches, brawling with both men. In the chaos, Reed accidentally splashed Breakker while aiming for Rhodes. Rhodes was looking to hit the Cross Rhodes, but Breakker recoverd and joined Reed in beating Rhodes down.
Suddenly, Randy Orton’s music hit. Orton rushed the ring, hitting Reed with an RKO that sent him out to the floor. Rhodes followed up by clotheslining Breakker over the top rope, standing tall alongside Orton. Orton had his eyes on the WWE Championship at the end.
