A new era in AEW’s ROH Wrestling began last night with the 1st episode. Below are the results:

– ROH World Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe def. Slim J

– The Kingdom def. The Infantry

– Zack Sabre Jr. (c) def. Blake Christian to retain NJPW’s IWGP TV Championship

ZSJ called out Bryan Danielson after the match.

– Christopher Daniels def. Rohit Raju

– Konosuke Takeshita def. Josh Woods

– The Embassy def. LSG, Joe Keys & Rex Lawless

– Ari Daivari def. Metalik

– Madison Rayne & Skye Blue def. The Renegade Twins

– Wheeler Yuta announced that he will hold an Open Challenge for the ROH Pure Championship next week. Timothy Thatcher accepted.

– Willow Nightingale def. Lady Frost

After the match, Willow said she wants a shot against Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship. Athena came out and accepted the challenge.

– Claudio Castagnoli (c) def. AR Fox to retain the ROH World Championship

Eddie Kingston (who quit AEW) came out after the match and declared that he wants a shot against Claudio for the Title.

Kingston said:

“Guess what? I’m an Independent Contractor, dawg. I’m 1099. Know how I promised Mox I wouldn’t beat your a$$ at AEW? This ain’t AEW. I’m coming for your Championship.”

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (March 3, 2016) – Old School Wrestling Veteran Passed Away

On this day in 2016, we lost Old School Japanese Hardcore Wrestling Superstar Hayabusa at the age of 47 due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Hayabusa mainly wrestled in Japan (FMW, …) and Mexico, but also appeared in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling once, when he joined Jinsei Shinzaki (WWF’s Hakushi) to take on the team of Rob Van Dam & Sabu at the ‘ECW Heat Wave 1998’ PPV.

His pro wrestling career ended when he was paralyzed after a botched Moonsault in 2001.
