After the recent WWE-UFC merger was announced, Conor McGregor posted an edited photo of him holding both the WWE Championship and the UFC Championship.

You can check it out below:

As seen in the above tweet, he also used a hashtag to say that him winning the WWE Championship is inevitable.

This led to Paul Heyman tweeting the following:

“Conor McGregor is a Roman Reigns wannabe!!!”

McGregor then replied:

“Careful Grampa. I’ll show up and break your jaw in 3 places.”

Heyman was asked about this exchange during an interview with BT Sport. Below is what the Special Counsel to The Tribal Chief said:

“I’m not a grandfather, but I appreciate the fact that I’m old enough to be one, number one, and I’m still thriving on top.

I would like to see if Conor McGregor at 57 is still thriving at the very top of his entire industry. We’ll see if he’s even relevant at 57. We’ll see if he even lives to 57 with his lifestyle now, number two.

He, as a Roman Reigns wannabe, did the Paul Heyman style, you know, title on each shoulder, and, you know, gave a shout out to himself, of course he did. You know, the ultimate self promoter in Conor McGregor, you know, standing 9-feet-tall and weighing 155 pounds and 5-foot-4.

So, with that in mind, I said, ‘Look at McGregor, a Roman Reigns wannabe’, and of course, you know, he said, ‘Oh, be careful grandpa. I’ll break your jaw in 3 places’.”

McGregor then teased a match against Reigns at SummerSlam 2023. He tweeted the following (and later deleted it):

“SummerSlam I’ll pull in on the yacht. Roman and Paul out the bus.”

Back in 2016, when McGregor took a shot at the entire WWE roster to promote his rematch against Nate Diaz, Reigns tweeted the following to McGregor:

“You’re the size of my leg, shut up.”

Later during an interview, Roman put over Conor as a fighter, but still challenged him to show up in the WWE locker room.

McGregor was recently seen signing items for fans in public, when YouTuber Adam’s Apple asked him if he’s really interested in joining WWE, similar to UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey.

Below is what McGregor said:

“No, not really.”

McGregor is scheduled to return to the Octagon later this year to fight Michael Chandler.
