Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Cora Jade and Becky Lynch.
• NXT star Cora Jade will be out of action for a year due to a torn ACL injury.
However, that doesn’t mean she won’t entertain her fans in the meantime.
She posted the following bikini photos and wrote the following:
“You may mourn me but not while you’re covered in my blood.”
• At WrestleMania 36 – Night 1 in 2020, Becky Lynch defeated Shayna Baszler to retain the RAW Women’s Championship.
In her book ‘BECKY LYNCH: THE MAN. Not Your Average Average Girl’, Becky revealed that she pitched the idea of losing the title to Shayna at this event, but WWE turned down her request as they didn’t think it was a good idea.
Here’s what Becky wrote:
“I had recommended that she take the title from me at WrestleMania… I had been a babyface champion for so long and could feel the audience beginning to turn on me. I had gone from underdog to top dog and such a situation can’t overstay its welcome.
We needed to make more female contenders and what better way to do that than having them win the title on the grandest stage of them all? Everyone wins. Except me, whose request was denied.
I wanted to lose, but I would actually win, so it was a loss… Sigh. Wrestling is confusing.”
A month after this, Becky announced on RAW that she’s pregnant and vacated the title. She crowned Asuka the new champion because Asuka won the Women’s Money In The Bank contract the night before.
