Corey Graves’ surprise move to the NXT commentary team has sparked discussions among fans and insiders. Known for his highly regarded work as a commentator, Graves joined Vic Joseph and Booker T on NXT last week, leaving his role on SmackDown as part of WWE’s recent commentary reshuffle.

The move coincides with Pat McAfee and Michael Cole forming the new RAW commentary team on Netflix, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett now call the action on SmackDown. PWInsider confirmed that Graves is officially off the SmackDown brand and is scheduled to remain with NXT moving forward.

Taking to social media, Graves hinted at frustration over the change, claiming he was told he wasn’t “famous enough” for a spot on RAW or SmackDown after McAfee’s return.

Here’s what he tweeted:

“Imagine chasing your dream.

Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream.

Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty f**king awesome at it.

And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job.

Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.”

His post, combined with visible discontent during his NXT debut, has fueled speculation that Graves may not be entirely happy with the decision.
