• Current Champion Wants A Match Against Brock Lesnar
We haven’t seen WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Legend Brock Lesnar since his win over Bobby Lashley at the Crown Jewel 2022 premium-live-event on November 5th in Saudi Arabia.
During a recent interview on the Battleground podcast, former NXT UK Champion and current WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther (fka WALTER) praised Lesnar and revealed that he analyzed Brock’s matches.
Here’s what the Imperium leader had to say:
“Yeah, definitely, to get the opportunity to prove myself in that scenario would be fantastic. When I started as a wrestler and got back into wrestling, I always watched Brock’s matches because they are fantastic, they stand out right away. There is nobody like him. I always like those characters.
Most of the people doing this who are successful, there is no copy of them. He’s always been a great wrestler, and from when I grew older in my career, I was able to analyze the work and understand the psychology and stuff. You can tell he’s one of the best to ever do it. If I get a chance to get in the ring with him, I would gladly take it.”
This isn’t the first time that Gunther openly stated, that he wants to wrestle The Beast. Back in November 2022 he said the following during an interview with WMBD News:
“If I had to pin it down to one name, I’d say it’s Brock Lesnar at the moment. When I was young and watching WWE, I enjoyed watching his matches. Later on when I progressed in my career, I was able to watch wrestling and analyze how people work. He’s always been somebody I was impressed with. He’s one of the best to ever do it. I think that’s the biggest possible challenge for me at the moment.”
Needless to say, that this match would be a tough and hard-hitting contest that would even surpass the Gunther vs. Sheamus match from last year’s ‘WWE Clash at the Castle’ premium-live-event in Wales.
A Brock Lesnar vs. Gunter match is heavily rumored for WrestleMania 39, but no word yet if the match would be for the WWE Intercontinental Championship or not.
If the title is on the line, there’s a pretty good chance that Brock will win his first ever Intercontinental Championship, a title that’s still missing on his long list of accomplishments.
