Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Roman Reigns and Natalya.
• Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE television since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. However, his return may be happening sooner than expected.
During Reigns’ absence, Solo Sikoa has taken over leadership of The Bloodline, with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu joining the faction. They recently kicked out Paul Heyman by brutally attacking him on Friday Night SmackDown.
According to PWInsider, Roman Reigns is expected to return by SummerSlam:
“As we mentioned earlier this week, Roman Reigns is expected back by SummerSlam. At one point, the plan was for him to return 2-3 weeks before SummerSlam, which is about to be now.”
The main event of SummerSlam 2024 on August 3rd will be Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa.
WATCH: Natalya Suffers V-Slip:
• Over the past six months, WWE has been working to sign their wrestlers to new contracts. While stars like Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor have re-signed, others have taken the opposite route. Becky Lynch hasn’t re-signed yet and is currently on a hiatus. Ricochet has chosen to leave.
Natalya’s contract expired in June, and negotiations continued as the month ended. She received interest from other promotions for various roles.
Natalya has been with WWE since 2007, winning two Women’s Championships (including a Divas Championship) and one WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Despite the uncertainty, Natalya will remain with WWE. PWInsider reported early Saturday that she has signed a new deal with the company. Natalya has not yet commented publicly on the agreement.
Natalya tweeted the following on Friday night:
“Don’t look back unless it’s to see how far you’ve come.”
