Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

• As seen in the main event segment of last night’s SmackDown, Cody Rhodes said he’s coming for Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but not at WrestleMania 40.

The American Nightmare then basically gave the WrestleMania 40 – Night 2 main event to The Rock.

According to PWInsider, current plan is for Cody to choose Seth Rollins as his WrestleMania XL opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship.

• The biggest topic of discussion in the professional wrestling world right now is The Rock taking Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 main event spot against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

According to PWInsider, The Rock wanted to ‘save’ the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania after major names like Brock Lesnar and CM Punk got pulled from the show:

“While WWE had been expertly building to a Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns rematch, some sources believe it was done by (Dwayne) Johnson to, as one source stated, ‘save WrestleMania’ after CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, for very different reasons, were taken off the board from the biggest weekend of the year.”

• Humberto Carrillo recently returned to the WWE main roster (along with Angel Garza) to join Santos Escobar’s Legado Del Fantasma faction on SmackDown.

His name was then shortened to Humberto, and now it has been shortened even further to just “Berto”.

The change has been made official on WWE’s website as well:
