According to Bodyslam+, the current plan is for at least 14 matches to take place across the two nights of WrestleMania 42. However, that number could grow even further.
WWE recently announced an earlier start time for WrestleMania 42, which would allow the company to fit more matches onto the card. Because of that change, the total could end up reaching as many as 16 matches in total.
WrestleMania 41 featured 14 matches (7 on each night).
WWE Set To Make Women’s History At WrestleMania 42
WWE may be planning a larger spotlight for the women’s division at WrestleMania 42. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, there is a strong push within WWE creative to feature a lot of women’s matches across the two-night event. The current plan being discussed includes at least 6 matches involving the women’s roster.
Sources said most of the lineup is already taking shape, with around 5 of those matches believed to be firmly scheduled.
The full match list has not been revealed yet, but if the current direction holds, it would mark the highest number of women’s matches ever featured at a WrestleMania.
So far, the following two women’s matches have been confirmed for WrestleMania 42:
– Women’s World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
– WWE Women’s Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
As we previously noted, Giulia (c) vs. IYO SKY for the Women’s United States Championship is rumored to take place as well. Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee will also have a match at the biggest show of the year.
